On Saturday, I failed my driving test Emoticon: Sad. I just feel like I have this huge heap of aluminum that's costing me an enormous amount of money and not doing anything in the slightest bit productive. It's just sitting there rusting and depreciating, at break-neck speed, while I work out my next move.

Defeat hurts, but I can take solace in one of my favorite quotes from no-less than Mr Churchill himself: "Success is the ability to go from one failure to the next with no loss of enthusiasm." - it's only a temporary set-back and I am confident victory can be attained before the end of the year.

Moving on from my dismal failure, a question occurred to me today: What is the world oldest blog? Of course, it depends on your definition of blog but the oldest blog I could find is this one, written by a guy called Dave Winer. He's been blogging since 1997 and his blog is currently the longest running on the Internet. He's written a short article on the history of blogs, which you can find here.

If you know of any older blogs, let me know here.

Simon.
